Many of the posters date from the 1920s and were printed in China by the Shanghai Commercial Press (Shanghai shang wu yin shu guan or 上海商务印书馆). The collection includes Volumes 1-18 (1949-67) of the liberal West Coast political weekly/monthly Frontier Magazine, edited by Phil Kerby. Cray often wrote for the publication.
